GOOD
TO KNOW
What’s an
antioxidant? The
most visual form
of oxidation is seen
as rust, such as
on cars—oxygen
attacking steel. In
the human body,
cells are vulnerable
to a similar process,
which leads to
disease and aging.
Antioxidants are
nutrients, found
mostly in plant
foods, that perform
as superheroes in
the body. They
undo damage
caused by oxidation
to keep us strong
and healthy.
